Yeah, there wasn’t really a set deadline. When I first went to LA at 16, Tyler (Smolinski) and I decided to start filming a part together, so I just kept stacking clips over time. But as I grew older — my skating and even my height changed — some of the old footage didn’t feel usable anymore. The footage that made it into this video includes a few clips from about two years ago, but most of it was filmed within the past year.

そうですね、最初の段階では締め切りは特に決まってなくて、16歳の時にLAに初めて行った時にTyler（Smolinsky）とパート作ろうってなってずっと貯めてました。でもフッテージがどんどん古くなったり、滑りとか身長が変わったりして、前のフッテージを使えなくて、今回使われてる映像だと、何カットか2年前くらい前ので1年以内に撮ったやつが多かったです！

Not really in my daily life, but I started getting more support from people around me, and magazines began to feature me more — that kind of change. I just want to keep working hard while never forgetting to appreciate everyone who’s helped me along the way.

自分の生活には特に大きな変化はないんですけど、周りの人が協力してくれたり、雑誌に取り上げてもらったりそういう変化はありました！周りの人たちに感謝すること忘れずにこれからもっと頑張ります！

Most of those were shot during my last trip to the U.S., which lasted about a month and a half. We shot in New York, LA, and Ohio.
I’d accumulated a bunch of photos and wanted to use them for something, so I talked to Kevin, the team manager at Vans. He reached out to Burnett (Michael Burnett, Thrasher Editor-in-Chief), and that led to the feature.
Tyler Citcy, HUF’s team manager, also helped a lot and sent over some of his photos.
We realized we were still one shot short, so after I got back to Japan, I asked Marimo (photographer) and filmer Kamekyo (Filmer) to help me shoot that boardslide photo.
So overall, the whole photo process probably took about two months.

あの写真は前回アメリカに1ヶ月半行った時に撮ってもらったのがほとんどで、NY,LA, Ohioで撮ってもらいました！

写真が結構溜まってたきたから何かに使いたくて、VansのチーマネのKevinに相談して、Burnett（Michael Burnett: Thrasher 編集長）に話をしてくれて乗せてもらえることになりました。HUFのチームマネージャーのTyler（Citcy）が撮ってくれた写真送ってくれたり協力してもらいました。でも写真が１枚足りなくて、日本に帰ってきてからマリモ君（フォトグラファー）にとカメキョウ君（フィルマー）に協力してもらってボードスライドの写真を撮ってもらいました。なので撮影期間で行ったら2ヶ月くらいだと思います！

Yeah, I heard that rail was the one Poli （a.k.a Shinya Nohara, pro for 5boro）tried back in the day and got hurt on, so when I went for it, I was super cautious about threading that gap the first time (laughs).
Much respect to Poli for trying it first!

あのレールは昔ポリ君がトライして怪我しちゃったレールって聞いてて、1回目隙間を通過するのをめっちゃ勘ぐりました（笑）。最初にトライしてるポリ君まじリスペクトです！

I actually have over three minutes of unused footage from this project — I filmed so much I honestly can’t remember it all (laughs). But the ones that stand out are definitely the last trick — the kickflip front wall — and the Poli rail.
The flip wall was filmed by Tyler Smolinski when he came to Japan. We were planning a trip to Ishinomaki, and I asked if I could try the trick early in the morning before we left. He said yeah, so we picked him up around 5:30 a.m., met up with Kamekyo and Iseki-san (photographer), and started trying it at 6 a.m. We got kicked out twice, but on the third try, it worked out — I was so hyped.
Big thanks to Tyler, Kamekyo, and Iseki-san for coming out so early to help.
As for the Poli rail, I first tried it while filming for Tokidoki, but couldn’t pull it off. It was eating at me, so I went back to get revenge — and finally landed it. I’m stoked on that one. I’d like to go back and try a different trick on it next time.

今回の映像以外に使われてない映像がまだ3分ちょいあったりして、撮りすぎて全然覚えてないんですよ（笑）。でも印象に残ってるのはラストトリックのフリップフロントウォールと、ポリ君レールですね。

フリップウォールのフッテージはHUFのメインフィルマーTyler Smolinskiがプライベートで日本に遊びにきてる時に撮ってもらった映像で、石巻に一緒に遊びに行こうってなって、朝早く出るから行く前にトライしていい？って聞いたらいいよって言ってくれて、朝の5:30前にTylerをピックして、カメキョウ君とイセキさん（フォトグラファー）も合流して、6:00からトライし始めました。2回キックアウトされて、3度目の正直で、メイクできて嬉しかったです。

Tyler、カメキョウ君、井関さんに早朝から付き合ってもらって感謝しかないです。

ポリ君レールは前作のTokidokiの撮影でトライしに行ったけど、その時はトライできなくて悔しくてリベンジでメイクできたから嬉しかったです。違う技も今度やりたいですね。
